Finance Assistant (Adult Social Care Billing)

Location: Portsmouth

Full Time, Fixed term for up to 12 months

Salary: £20,159 – £21,841 Per Annum

Overview

The Adult Social Care Finance Team is responsible for the accurate assessment of charging for non-residential and residential services, the accurate and timely billing of charges, recovery of un-paid charges, the provision of direct payments and the financial management of vulnerable client’s finances through the appointment of Deputyship and Appointee ship.

The team also assess financial support payments for looked after children. This is a busy team which encompasses frequent change, through legislative changes or continuous improvement. What you’ll need to succeed You will have excellent customer service skills, both faces to face and via the telephone as well as excellent communication skills, written and verbal. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook. You will have experience using large databases with confidential information. You will also have experience of reconciling customer accounts and a good working experience of spreadsheets. You will understand the services provided by Adult Social Care and you will have empathy, sensitivity and integrity when dealing with clients, particularly vulnerable adults.
